Here are some of the characteristics of WhatsApp being tapped that you need to know, quoted from various sources.

1. Sending messages that the user didn’t send

Have you ever felt like you didn’t send a message without realizing it? If so, it could be that someone is tapping your WhatsApp account.

Sending messages without the user’s knowledge is one sign that WhatsApp is being tapped.

2. Online status even though it’s not active

If the status is online but WhatsApp is not active, that condition could be a sign of something odd, including wiretapping.

To find out, try looking at your WhatsApp status through another account when you’re not opening the WhatsApp application on your phone or on your desktop.

3. Message has been read

Two blue ticks indicate the message has been read. However, what if you feel like you’ve never read or opened the message? This is one of the characteristics of WhatsApp being tapped remotely.

In this case, the user’s WhatsApp account is copied to the WhatsApp clone application using the QR code that should be used on WhatsApp Web.

4. Quit WhatsApp account suddenly

WhatsApp cannot be used on two devices at the same time. If the same number is used on another device, then the WhatsApp account on one of the devices will exit automatically.

This could indicate that someone is trying to get into your WhatsApp account. Usually the following notification will appear:

“Your phone number is no longer registered in WhatsApp on the phone. Maybe because you have registered it on another phone. If you don’t do this, verify your phone number to log back into your account”.

If you get a notification like the one above, then don’t select ‘OK’. Instead, verify that your WhatsApp account doesn’t move to another phone.

5. Get sent OTP code

If WhatsApp exits by itself and you get an OTP code sent, then you are advised not to hand over the code to anyone.
