1. Yellow skin
If lung cancer has spread to the pancreas or liver, it can cause jaundice. Jaundice is when your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow. This is caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the body.
Bilirubin is a yellow or orange colored substance that is made during the normal breakdown of red blood cells. If lung cancer has spread to the liver, pancreas, or bile ducts, it can cause higher than normal levels of bilirubin.
2. Itchy skin
Signs of lung problems from the skin are also visible from the side of the itchy skin. Quoting Very Well Health, itchy skin can be another sign that lung cancer has spread to the liver. If the liver is affected, it can lead to a buildup of bile salts causing itching.
3. Easy bruising
Certain tumors can cause the secretion of too much adrenocorticotropic hormone, which increases cortisol levels. These elevated levels can cause skin symptoms such as skin bruising easily, significant purple stretch marks, and a red, swollen, and puffy face. It is also a sign of lung problems from the skin.
4. Heliotrope Ruam
Heliotropic rash is a reddish-purple rash around the eyes due to dermatomyositis. Scientists suggest that dermatomyositis complicated by non-small cell lung cancer is not uncommon and that severe lung cancer can progress quickly.
5. Papula Gottron
Gottron’s papules are dark red bumps or raised patches on the knuckles, joints of the fingers or toes, elbows, ankles, or knees. It is also caused by dermatomyositis. It is also a sign of lung problems from the skin.
