1. North Korea
North Korea has decided to forge stronger relations with Russia. Their warmth was seen when Putin spoke to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un about expanding bilateral relations.
Putin also took the time to send a letter to Kim. He stressed that the proximity of the two countries is in their national interests, also helping to strengthen the security and stability of the Korean peninsula.
Kim has also repeatedly reiterated his support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
North Korea is even rumored to supply Russia with weapons to achieve its goals.
National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said Pyongyang was secretly supplying arms to Russia.
“[Pyongyang] has secretly supplied large quantities of artillery shells for the Russian war in Ukraine, “Kirby said, as quoted by News Week, Thursday (3/11).
2. China
China is also one of Russia’s strong allies in Asia. The two countries support each other in strategic partners.
Before Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, he and Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that the partnership between the two countries had no borders.
They also decided to deepen cooperation between China and Russia in various aspects.
The two leaders also have a close relationship. Xi has met with Putin 40 times since 2012.
China too has become a country that has not condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has not imposed sanctions on the Moscow government.
