Flood submerged 5 RTs in East Jakarta (East Jakarta). The flood was caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung river.
Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Province, Isnawa Adji, revealed that flood data in 5 RTs of East Jakarta was recorded at 18.00 WIB, Sunday (12/2/2023). Isnawa said the moderate to heavy rain that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings today caused an increase in the alert status of the Katulampa Dam to Alert 3 (Waspada) and the Sunter Hulu Siaga 2 Post (Siaga) as well as inundation at several points in the DKI Jakarta area.
“BPBD noted that inundation that previously occurred in 3 RTs, is now 5 RTs or 0.016% of the 30,470 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area,” Isnawa said in a written statement this evening.
The data for the East Jakarta area that is still inundated are as follows:
Cililitan Village
– Quantity: 1 RT
– Height: 50 cm
– Cause: Overflow of Ciliwung River
Chawang Village
– Total: 2 RTs
– Height: 70 cm
– Cause: Overflow of Ciliwung River
Bidara China Village
– Total: 2 RTs
– Height: 40 cm
– Cause: Overflow of Ciliwung River
Isnawa said the DKI Jakarta BPBD has deployed personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each area and coordinate elements from the SDA Service, Bina Marga Service, Gulkarmat Service to suck up puddles and ensure the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads. The inundation is targeted to recede quickly.
“The DKI BPBD appeals to the public to remain vigilant and alert to potential inundation. In an emergency, immediately call telephone number 112. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop,” he added.
