Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Captain the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo never stop being hit by problems a World Cup 2022. Here are five of Ronaldo’s problems at the World Cup.
Ronaldo looks to the 2022 World Cup, which has the potential to be the final tournament, with full confidence. But the optimism didn’t go according to the star’s expectations.
Ronaldo was less than brilliant in his fifth World Cup. Although he managed to set several records, he has only scored one goal so far.
The decreased sharpness was accompanied by a number of non-technical problems. As a result, the news about Ronaldo at the 2022 World Cup has more to do with controversy than with results.
Here are five of Ronaldo’s problems with Portugal at the 2022 World Cup:
Not sharp enough
Ronaldo played four times at the 2022 World Cup, three times as a starter and one game as a substitute as Portugal beat Switzerland 6-1.
But speaking of sharpness, Portugal’s living legend is still far from satisfactory. Ronaldo scored just one goal and that too from a penalty as he beat Ghana 3-2 in their first group stage match.
Subsequently, Ronaldo suffered a stalemate and was unable to score any more goals when he met Uruguay and South Korea. This scorecard is clearly minor for the size of a player who is used as a pillar as player number nine.
Angry when replaced
Ronaldo is known to be unhappy as he was replaced by another player when Portugal lost 1-2 to South Korea in the group stage.
Ronaldo was revealed from the first minute by coach Fernando Santos. CR7 then played for 65 minutes until he was replaced by Andre Silva.
Santos’ decision to retire Ronaldo has apparently not been met with a good response. Ronaldo is known to be unhappy because he thinks Santos was in a hurry to do it.
Portuguese media A Bola reported that Ronaldo could be heard yelling into the camera at the Portuguese bench.
“You rushed to get me out,” said Ronaldo’s yell, which seemed to be aimed at Santos.
