1. Jeff Bezos

Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world with a wealth of USD 199.7 billion or equivalent to Rp. 2.857 trillion (referring to the exchange rate of Rp. 14,307 per USD).

Bezos started Amazon when he decided to quit his job as a banker at the investment firm DE Shaw. Then, he founded Amazon in Seattle in his garage in 1994 by entrusting his wife, Mackenzie to be his accountant. He sells books with his virtual method that was not yet in demand.

Three years later, Amazon ventured to conduct an initial public offering or IPO. The decision made Bezos a billionaire. Even so, he still rides the Honda Accord for activities.

It didn’t stop there, Bezos founded a space flight company called Blue Origin in 2000. He called the company a legacy business, selling $1 billion in Amazon stock every year.

4. Mark Zuckerberg

The Facebook CEO has a wealth of USD 136.4 billion or equivalent to Rp. 1,951 trillion. Facebook, the social network run by Zuckerberg, has been the main communication tool during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

More than 1,000 advertisers joined the boycott in June to protest Facebook’s lax policies on hate speech and misleading posts from politicians. Zuckerberg started Facebook at Harvard in 2004 at the age of 19 for students to match names to photos of classmates.
