5 residents of Selajambe Cianjur tested positive for DHF

KAPOL.ID – Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) affected five residents of Kamiran village, Selajambe village, Sukaluyu district, Cianjur regency.

Within a month, the five victims were treated in hospital as positive for dengue.

“Yes, there are five people from the same village in Kamiran village,” Selajambe village head Agus Junaedi said on Thursday (29/12/2022).

The residents were said to have been attacked by the DHF within a week and alternately.

“Presumably due to changes in the weather and the existence of places that are not cleaned for mosquitoes to breed,” he said.

They (the five residents) who tested positive for DHF were treated in the hospital and are now cured so they have returned to their respective homes.

“We have reported this incident to the Sukaluyu Health Center for treatment,” he said.

Sukaluyu health center head Dr Nurul Hadie through Surpelans officer R Asep Sumarjo said his team received a report from a resident of Kamiran village, Selajambe village who tested positive for DHF. He then he checks the location immediately.

“We, together with environmental health officers from Sukaluyu Public Health Center, are examining the location for Epidemiological Investigation (PE) to see whether there are larvae or not. After carrying out an investigation it was found that there were five residents while only one person reported it,” he said.

He said that after checking the location, his team found mosquito larvae in the homes of residents in Kamiran village.

“We immediately proceeded to conduct DHF counseling to residents of Kamiran village providing an understanding of DHF,” he said.

Among them, signs of larvae, the larval cycle and prevention by two means, chemical and physical.

According to him, there is no tarnish yet. However, the focus will be on Eradicating Mosquito Nests (PSN) first.

“The point is that we will do prevention by means of the PSN and the sowing of abatization has not yet led to the spraying of fogging,” he said. ***
