The celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the district will take place on the weekend of July 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the premises of the district office of the district of Würzburg in Zeppelinstrasse. While only invited guests will see the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder on Friday, and Saturday is dedicated to the 5000 volunteers within the district, everyone is invited on Sunday.

1. Known from this year’s German Abi: reading of “Asterix uff Meefranggisch” with Gunter Schunk and Kai Fraass
“It washed me clean off my chair,” said Gunther Schunk from Würzburg, describing his first reaction when he found out that his “translation” of Asterix into “Meefranggische” had made it into this year’s German Abi. To mark the anniversary of the district, the Franconian dialect expert will be reading at 4 p.m. in the large conference room of the district office with colleague Kai Fraass.
2. A colorful program for children and young people
A special focus of the open day is also on the program items for children and young people. For example, the performances by the magician Zappalott (at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.) and the clown Heini (at 2.30 p.m.) promise interactive fun for young and old. The little ones can let off steam at the Kettcar rally, a tractor skill course, the fire brigade bouncy castle, the hands-on program of the play mobile and the “art nomads”.
3. Informative and interactive presentations on health and aging
Care, health and the increasing aging of society are topics that the district office focuses on and does not want to sweep under the table at its anniversary event. At around 3.30 p.m. there will be a presentation on “Living, housing and support in old age”, while at 1.30 p.m. District Administrator Thomas Ebert will be giving a presentation on lay resuscitation by Dr. Manfred Knof (Main Clinic, Ochsenfurt) lends a hand himself. At 12.30 p.m. there will be practical instructions for a “7-minute workout” for seniors.

4. Your physical well-being is taken care of
A good party stands and falls with the culinary offer: With “Die Heunischs” (bratwurst and steak in a bun), “Hotvolee” (sandwiches of all kinds), “Bob’s Hot Dog” (hot dogs to fill yourself) and “Der Esswagen ” (wraps and vegans), those responsible organized four food trucks. There is also coffee and cake, a non-alcoholic cocktail bar and popcorn – handed out by members of the district council.
5. “Red Tape Riders” – experience administrative staff in a different way
“We had tried it several times – and now it finally worked!” says Eva-Maria Schorno, head of public relations at the district office, looking forward to a special premiere as part of the celebrations on Sunday. With the “Red Tape Riders”, the district office now has its own band, which is made up of nine employees from different departments. While the specialist departments also present themselves in their actual function as part of the open day, this appearance offers the opportunity to experience administrative staff in a playful context.
