BARCELONA won full points in the second match of Group G of the 2020-2021 Champions League. Blaugrana – nicknamed Barcelona – won convincingly 2-0 over Juventus at Allianz Stadium, Turin, Italy, Thursday (29/10/2020), early morning WIB.
The victory does not mean that all Barcelona players played well in the match. Likewise Juventus, there are some of their players who performed well when they lost to Barcelona. Here are five players who performed well and badly in the Juventus vs Barcelona match Sportskeeda, Thursday (29/10/2020):
5. Alvaro Morata – Juventus (Good)
Juventus striker, Alvaro Morata, is a scourge for Barcelona’s defense. How not, the Spanish player three times netted the ball into Barcelona’s goal, but was not considered a goal because of offside.
If Morata is not caught offside, his action will take Juventus to three points on Thursday night. Despite failing to score goals, Morata performed well as the spearhead of Juventus.
4. Antoine Griezmann – Barcelona (Bad)
Antoine Griezmann played as Barcelona’s center-forward against Juventus. The match was an opportunity for Griezmann to prove his quality to Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman. However, he did not perform optimally.
Griezmann missed several opportunities to increase Barcelona’s advantage over Juventus. If the Frenchman was sharper in front of the opponent’s goal, Barcelona might win more than 2-0.
3.Ousmane Dembele – Barcelona (Good)
Ousmane Dembele answered Koeman’s belief very well. Dembele, who plays as a right winger, often causes problems in the Juventus defense.
Dembele’s action in the 14th minute even opened Barcelona’s advantage in the match. Dembele’s goal is one of the keys for Barcelona to reach the three points at Juventus.
2. Paulo Dybala – Juventus (Bad)
Paulo Dybala was unable to lift Juventus’ performance against Barcelona. Dybala, who is expected to be a source of creativity for Juventus, is actually helpless in the Blaugrana defense.
Dybala was barely visible throughout the match. The Argentine player must clean up to find his best game again if he doesn’t want to be placed on the bench by Juventus coach, Andrea Pirlo.
1. Lionel Messi – Barcelona (Good)
Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has become one of the most troublesome figures for Juventus defense. Messi shows himself not finished in the match against Juventus.
The 33-year-old made five key passes, created two big chances, passed six opponents and won nine duels. He also scored a penalty in the 90 + 1 minute to ensure Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Juventus. Messi returned to shine after having drowned when Barcelona lost to Real Madrid in El Clasico in the Spanish League.
