5 perpetrators have been arrested, the police are hunting the brains behind the Mertodranan Solo riot

Solopos.com, SOLO – The police have so far arrested five people in connection with cases of riots, vandalism and maltreatment in Mertodranan Village, Kliwon Market, Solo, on last Saturday (8/8/2020).

Kapolda Central Java Inspector General Pol Ahmad Luthfi emphasized that there is no room for intolerant groups in Central Java. To reporters at Mako II Polresta Solo on Tuesday (11/8/2020), the Regional Police Chief said that of the five people arrested, four had been named suspects.

Kapolda said that he had the names of other perpetrators in the riot case in Mertodranan, Solo.

“I emphasize that the ranks of the Central Java Regional Police are backed up by the General Criminal Directorate at the National Police Headquarters to pursue this intolerant group. I have conveyed to all the Heads of Police in Central Java, especially in Solo, that there is no place for intolerant groups,” said Kapolda.

Kapolda said the perpetrators were under Article 160 KUHP and Article 335 of the Criminal Code concerning incitement to criminal acts of violence and Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning beatings. He asked other perpetrators whose identities were known to immediately surrender to the police.

“What is clear is that these suspects are intolerant groups. I order that there are no intolerant groups. I hope that the community will remain calm. The National Police guarantees security,” said the Kapolda.

He added that if the public encounters suspicious activity by the intolerant group, they can immediately inform the police.
