Director of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that in the last few days, COVID-19 cases in the country had increased quite significantly. This was marked by the emergence of various cluster Corona in various places.
“First, it starts with an office cluster. Second, the bukber cluster. Third, the tarawih cluster in Banyumas. Fourth, the homecoming cluster in Pati, and the takziah cluster in Semarang, “said Dr. Nadia in a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Friday (30/4/2021).
“Of course this is very worrying us because of the possibility of superspreaders occur,” he continued.
Dr. Nadia explained that there are a number of factors behind the emergence of five COVID-19 clusters in a week. One of them is the indiscipline of the community in the program.
In the case of the tarawih cluster in Banyumas, 51 people were reported to have contracted COVID-19 after one congregation continued to go to the mosque even though he was sick with Corona.
“We also have to know that if we are in poor health, it is better not to delay it until we are healthy to go to tarawih prayer,” said Dr. Nadia.
Apart from tarawih activities, breaking the fast together in the month of Ramadan also needs to be a concern. Although breaking the fast together this year is allowed, health protocols must still be followed.
“In principle, eating together is a very possible factor for joint transmission,” he concluded.
