5 ministers have no seats; Decision at the CPM State Secretariat | CPM

Thiruvananthapuram: Five ministers will not get seats in the Assembly elections this time. The CPM state secretariat has decided not to field EP Jayarajan, Thomas Isaac, G Sudhakaran, AK Balan and C Raveendranath. There are indications that EP Jayarajan may be considered for the organizational charge.

The opinion is that the two term condition should be strictly adhered to. This will be mandatory for MLAs as well. Raju Abraham. A. Pradeep Kumar also has no seat. The state committee will decide who will be given the exemption.

This time the party is considering Health Minister KK Shailaja in Jayarajan’s constituency Mattannur in Kannur. Jayarajan had earlier stated that he would not contest without Mattannur. The district secretariat directed the central committee member to contest in Mattannur following the party’s suggestion to prepare a safe constituency for Shailaja in Kannur district.
