The press revealed that 5 matches of the 10th round of the English Premier League are threatened with postponement due to the 8 October railway workers’ strike.
The RMT union said over 40,000 workers and 15 rail operators will take an industrial strike on 8 October.
And the British newspaper “Sun” said that Brighton’s match against Tottenham is more likely to be postponed after the strike that caused the match against Crystal Palace to be postponed in the last round.
The newspaper added that there are 4 other English Premier League games on the same day that could be significantly affected by the strike, namely with Leicester in Bournemouth, Wolves traveling to Chelsea and Manchester City hosting Southampton and Newcastle due to the Brentford bout.
The newspaper pointed out that the Premier League will want to avoid further postponements, with 14 matches being postponed, after sixth round matches were postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth of England.
It is worth noting that Arsenal lead the English Premier League standings with 18 points, one point more than Manchester City and Tottenham.
