Premature aging can actually be prevented with healthy habits, such as a balanced diet, good sleep, and proper skin care routine.
Here are some routines skin care which can help prevent aging, which was reported by the Times of India, Sunday, October 6, 2021.
1. Sun protection
Sunscreen is the best anti-aging solution because it protects the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. The sun can cause visible signs of aging on the skin, including dark spots, pigmentation, or even wrinkles. So, use a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 even when indoors or on cloudy days. In addition to applying sunscreen, use other sun protection such as closed clothing, sunglasses, and a hat to avoid sun exposure and protect your skin from damage.
2. Get enough sleep
The body repairs itself while we sleep. During sleep, skin blood flow increases and reduces wrinkles and age spots. Ideally, each person sleeps about seven to nine hours per day. Poor sleep quality is often associated with aging.
3. Eat healthy
Foods that contain antioxidants can increase skin elasticity and protect the skin from damage that causes premature aging. Vegetables and fruits such as spinach, mustard greens, peppers, broccoli, carrots, as for fruits such as pomegranates, blueberries, avocados, and so on. Other foods or drinks that are high in antioxidants are green tea and olive oil.
4. Wear a moisturizer
As we age, the use of moisturizers becomes more and more important. Moisturizers can trap water in the skin and keep it hydrated and fresh. This product also helps reduce visible signs of aging such as wrinkles or fine lines. It is recommended that you apply a moisturizer that contains vitamins, especially vitamin C or vitamin A. These ingredients are effective in preventing wrinkles from forming or deepening. Even better if the moisturizer has sun-protective properties that will slow down the aging process.
5. Choose the right skincare product
When choosing skin care products or skincare to prevent signs of aging pay attention to the ingredients in it. Choose products that detoxify, condition, and heal the skin. Organic aloe vera gel along with lavender essential oil can add oxygen which energizes the skin from sun damage and delays aging.
These skin care tips can’t turn back time but may prevent premature aging so your face looks younger.
