The doctor explained that heart health can be assessed through the pulse, indicating that the heart rate of a healthy person at rest is less than 80 beats per minute. If the person is not an athlete and his resting pulse is less than 60 beats per minute, he must undergo the necessary examination.

Cholesterol level

In addition, the level of cholesterol in the blood should be less than 5 mmol/L, saying: “The level of harmful cholesterol (LDL), which forms atherosclerotic plaques in the blood vessels, should be less than 3.0 mmol/L, and the level of good cholesterol (HDL) should be.” Higher than 1.2 mmol/L in men and more than 1.0 mmol/L in women.”

Glucose level

She emphasized that the glucose level on an empty stomach should be less than 5.5 mmol/L to avoid cardiovascular disease.

The doctor points out that the risk of cardiovascular disease also depends on nutrition, sleep, bad habits, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption.
