1. Not an official government car
As previously mentioned, the car AHY was driving was not provided by the government. Carrying the plate ‘RI 41’, the car is not an official car intended as a ministerial official car. Regarding performance, this car has acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. The top speed of the GLS 450 is predicted to reach 246 km/hour. Fuel consumption is recorded at 9.2-8.9 liters/100 km. When converted to km/liter, fuel consumption reaches 10.8-11.2 km/liter. Performance and fuel consumption are supported by a 3,000 cc petrol engine, 6 cylinder in line, with EQ Boost technology.
This machine is equipped with a 48 Volt electrical system and is integrated with a starter-generator. This engine can produce maximum power of 270 kW (367 hp) and torque of 500 Nm. Meanwhile, EQ Boost technology contributes 250 Nm of torque and 16 kW/22 hp as additional output. The engine is paired with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
4. Next Generation GLS 400
The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 is the successor to the GLS 400. This SUV was launched in 2020 in Indonesia. Compared to its predecessor (GLS 400), the New GLS 450 is a bit bigger in terms of dimensions. This car is 77 mm longer, 22 mm wider, and has a wheelbase that is 60 mm longer than its predecessor. With larger dimensions, the cabin of this car is claimed to be more spacious. In fact, if the second and third row seats are folded flat, this car has a luggage capacity of up to 2,400 liters.
5. Abundant Features
Another feature that this car excels at is Multibeam LED and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, with a total of 112 LEDs per headlamp. This technology can control 84 LEDs separately, which can produce the maximum light intensity according to permitted standards – for distances reaching more than 650 meters.
For the entertainment system, there is MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), which can run Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Apart from that, on the center console there is a touchpad which can be used to access menus and features on the touch screen panel.
For those who like listening to music in the car, the GLS 450 is equipped with a Burmester®surround sound system, with 13 speakers and an additional amplifier.
The GLS is equipped with a drive assist system (driving assistance). The feature is Active Lane Keeping Assist, which can prevent vehicles from crossing the line to the right or left of the lane. Active Lane Keeping Assist uses ESP to brake the opposite wheel, preventing the vehicle from crossing the line. The turning maneuver function of Active Brake Assist is also a new feature on this model. The way it works, if there is a potential danger of collision with an approaching vehicle when turning, the GLS 450 can brake at the speed, which is usually produced in those conditions.
