TRIBUN-BALI.COM – Griffith University Epidemiologist Dicky Budiman responded to some untrue information circulating regarding mysterious acute hepatitis.

One of them is not a new pandemic.

First, he conveyed that so far the mysterious acute hepatitis phenomenon was not related to the Covid-19 vaccine.

All cases detected globally were children under 15 years old, the majority of whom were under five years old, who had not received the Covid-19 vaccine. This means that it is not related to the covid vaccine.

Second, that there are those who say that hepatitis is the same as jaundice, according to Dicky, this must be straightened out.

“This phenomenon is different from Hepatitis variants A, B, C, D and E. This is completely different and new. Of course, we have to wait for the next study,” said Dicky to Tribunnews, Friday (6/5/2022).

Third, Dicky said that the hepatitis vaccine, which is usually given to children and adults, has not been proven to provide protection against this mysterious hepatitis.

Fourth, the corrected information is that the phenomenon of the emergence of mysterious Hepatitis is not a new pandemic.
