Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Don’t just sport to maintain your physical health, but also keep your memory sharp. It cannot be denied that memory is a very important thing in human life.
There are habits to improve memory. Apart from that, this habit can also be done to prevent cognitive decline, aka dementia, from an early age.
The following are habits that can keep your memory sharp and mental health maintained.
1. Choose foods that are good for the brain
Certain foods and drinks are believed to nourish the brain and improve mental health.
Some foods include nuts, fish and berries. Apart from that, consume foods high in protein and contain healthy fats.
2. Socialize more
Try to build more sincere social relationships and spend quality time with loved ones. All of these are important elements for personal well-being and longevity, especially when it comes to brain health.
3. More confident
It’s time to break free from self-deprecating thought patterns. Such a mindset traps you in a cycle of anxiety that limits your cognitive abilities.
Quoting the Center for Brain Health page, building self-confidence and generating positive self-perception helps change the way the brain works to be healthier and more innovative.
4. Find a purpose in life
When you take gradual steps towards larger resolutions and complete small steps, you activate networks in the brain to produce dopamine which is both motivating and rewarding.
5. Take notes
Memory decline actually becomes normal as you get older. However, this can be prevented by training your memory by digging into the deepest information you have ever done.
For example, when you do something, try to remember anything you might have missed. You can remember it through writing or notes that you make every time you finish doing something.
