5-Door Suzuki Jimny Launch in Indonesia: Prices and Availability Revealed

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The 5-door Suzuki Jimny is a product that is much awaited by automotive consumers, not only globally but also in Indonesia.

After launching globally, now a new leak has emerged from the official DKI Jakarta Samsat website. Reported by Kompas.com, Thursday (21/9/2023), from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Regional Tax and Levy Agency website there are two new codes in the Suzuki brand Jeep category.

The code with the number GN5VX (4×4) is allegedly the code for the 5-door Jimny which will be available in Indonesia. From this data, a vehicle with a manual transmission costs IDR 325 million, while an automatic transmission costs IDR 335 million.

However, NJKB is not the benchmark price when cars are marketed to the public. This price only shows the value of the vehicle before being subject to sales taxes such as BBNKB, PPh, VAT and others.

Previously, Ei Mochizuki, Asst. To Strategic Planning Dept. Head of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) said that his party could not say for sure when the 5-door Suzuki Jimny would launch in Indonesia.

“Suzuki Jimny 5 doors, just wait a moment,” said Ei Mochizuki.

Meanwhile, Donny Saputra, 4W Marketing Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) confirmed that Suzuki will launch a new SUV in the near future. However, it is not explained in detail what model is meant.

“We are preparing several SUV models, we will inform you about the detailed prices later, but there are several models that we will prepare in the near future, the model theme is still SUVs. But at this time I can’t say anything, this is related to corporate strategy,” said Donny.

Talking about the five-door Jimny, in appearance this car has a model that is similar to the previous version.

Starting from the front fascia, engine hood, lamp design, windshield, front and rear bumpers, and over fenders which look almost the same as the three-door model. However, this car has dimensions that are 340mm longer than the three-door Jimny.

The five-door Jimny is equipped with a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 130 HP of power and 134 Nm of torque.

The engine is mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. This car is also equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro All Wheel Drive (AWD) which allows the five-door Jimny to overcome even extreme off-road terrain.
