The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), in the afternoon edition of Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) published five decrees declaring protected natural areas in the states of several municipalities in the states of: Quintana Roo, Puebla, Oaxaca and in the Gulf of Mexico.
Likewise, through another decree, the area of influence of the Endhó dam, in the state of Hidalgo, is declared an ecological restoration zone.
The Chunyaxché site is declared a protected natural area, with the category of flora and fauna protection area, which according to the “Geostatistical Framework, December 2023” of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, is located in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, in the state of Quintana Roo, with a total area of five thousand five hundred nine hectares, three areas, eighty-two point twenty-eight centiares.
The Arrecifes del Golfo de México-Sur site, located in the Gulf of Mexico, is also declared a protected natural area with the category of national park, and covers the total area of four million one hundred nine thousand seven hundred thirty-one hectares, forty-two areas, fifty-six point zero nine centiares.
In another decree, the Kowtahyolo site is declared a protected natural area, with the category of natural resource protection area, which according to the “Geostatistical Framework, December 2023” of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, is located in the municipality of Cuetzalan del Progreso, in the state of Puebla, with a total area of one thousand seven hundred and thirty-two hectares, ninety-nine areas, thirty-four point forty-two centiares.
Likewise, the Bajos de Coyula II site is established as protected natural areas, with the category of protection of flora and fauna, which according to the “Geostatistical Framework, December 2023 of the INEGI, is located in the municipality of Santa Naría Haulco, in the state of Oaxaca, has a surface area of 2,633 hectares.
The Felipe Carrillo Puerto site is declared a protected natural area, with the category of wildlife and fauna protection area, which according to the “Geostatistical Framework, December 2023 of the INEGI, is located in the municipalities of Solidaridad, Tulum and Cozumel, in the state of Quintana Roo, with an area of 53,227 hectares.
And the area of influence of the Endhó dam, located in the municipalities of Atitalaquia, Atotonilco de Tula, Tepeji del Río de Ocampo, Tepetitlán, Tezontepec de Aldama, Tlahuelilpan, Tlaxcoapan and Tula de Allende, in the state, is declared an ecological restoration zone. of Hidalgo, which aims to carry out the necessary actions to regenerate, recover and restore the conditions that foster the evolution and continuity of the natural processes that developed there, particularly with regard to the ecological balance and ecosystem services of supply of water, air, soil and biota.
