5 Countries with the Most HIV Patients, Number 3 Reach 7.7 Million People

JAKARTA – There are five country with sufferers HIV most in the world. World Health Organization (WHO) states that there were around 37.9 million people globally living with HIV in 2018.

Where the prevalence of HIV in adults aged 15 to 29 years is estimated to be around 0.8 percent of the global population. It is believed that the place of origin of HIV is Africa has the highest prevalence of around 3.9 percent (3.3 percent – 4.5 percent).

Meanwhile, HIV or human immunodeficiency virus is a sexually transmitted infection (STI). It can also be spread through contact with infected blood or from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding.

Without treatment, it may take years before HIV weakens your immune system until you have AIDS or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by HIV.

1. Swaziland (Swaziland)

The first country with the most HIV sufferers is Swaziland (Eswatini), which is 27 percent. Through the adoption of expanded treatment and prevention services, Swaziland significantly reduced the rate of new infections by almost half between 2011 and 2016. In addition, the country has an HIV prevalence among sex workers of 60.5 percent, the highest in the world.
