Jakarta –
The current population crisis is a problem that is being faced by several countries. Several countries in Asia, such as China, Japan and South Korea, are experiencing significant declines in birth rates.
It is said that it is related to the ‘sex recession’, the decreased desire to have children, get married, or have sex.
China, which was previously known as the country with the most population in the world, has even experienced a shrinking population until its position was recently shifted by India.
The problem of population crisis is not only experienced by countries in Asia. Several countries in other parts of the world are also preparing themselves to face the same problem. There are even some countries that are willing to give a certain amount of money to want to move to their country.
As for the following are some countries that are willing to pay people to live in their territory quoted from Expatriate Healthcare:
Spanish
Many small towns in Spain are facing a declining population as many young people prefer to live in cities. This has made several small towns in Spain offer incentives for foreigners to want to live and work in their area.
For example, in Ponga, a small village in the mountains of northern Spain with a population of 500 people. The village offers a young couple 3,000 euros (Rp 48.5 million) who are willing to move there for 5 years.
If the couple has children while living in Ponga, the local government will provide an additional 3,000 euros per child.
Greece
Greece has experienced a steady decline in population since 2010 and is expected to continue until 2050. One of the Greek islands offers incentives to encourage new arrivals.
The Orthodox Church on the island of Antikythera plans to give away a plot of land and will receive 500 euros ($8.1 million) per month for three years if they live there.
Chili
Chile has been encouraging new businesses to be built in their country since 2016. Through the Startup Chile program, entrants can register for one of the three programs offered, namely Build, Ignite, and Growth.
Build is used for new startups and is a four-month program to help launch new businesses. With this program, new startups will receive US$14,000 (Rp. 206.4 million) and a 1-year residence visa.
Meanwhile, the Ignite program will offer businesses US$30,000 (IDR 442.4 million) and the Growth program is aimed at more mature businesses and offers funding of up to US$80,000 (IDR 1.1 billion).
Italia
Experiencing similar population problems, several regions in Italy are also offering incentives to encourage new population growth, increase population and the local economy.
The small town of Candela, which has a population of 2,700 people, offered 800 euros ($12.9) for singles, 1300 euros ($2100) for couples and 2000 euros ($32.3 million) for families to move to the village. .
The condition set by the local government is that newcomers must rent a property in Candela to live full time and also find a job earning at least 7,500 euros (Rp 121.3 million) per year.
United States of America
Several states in the United States offer money for workers who want to live and work in their territory. For example, like Tulsa, Oklahoma, which offers remote workers money of up to 10,000 US dollars (Rp. 147.5 million).
Apart from that, Topeka, Kansas is also offering funds of up to US$15,000 (Rp. 221.3 million) to workers who want to live in their area. The condition is that applicants must prove that they have rented or bought a property in Topeka and it is the main residence.
