KOMPAS.TV – The search for KRI Nanggala 402 which was lost in northern Bali waters continues. The TNI noted that there were 5 countries that had sent fleets to help with the search.
The five countries are Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, India and the United States.
The following is information about the foreign fleets that assisted in the search for the KRI Nanggala 402 submarine, some of which have arrived and joined the search.
1. MV Swift Rescue
The Singapore Ministry of Defense deployed the MV Swift Rescue submarine rescue ship equipped with the DSAR 6 mini submarine.
DSAR 6 is capable of diving up to hundreds of meters, sticking to damaged ships, and evacuating to the surface.
2.AS P-8 Poseidon
The United States Navy’s Poseidon P8 is a maritime patrol aircraft designed for a variety of missions including search and rescue missions.
The aircraft is equipped with a high-resolution imaging radar (ISAR) for the imaging, detection, classification and tracking of surface-appearing submarines and small, fast-moving vessels in coastal waters.
3. MV Mega Bakti
Malaysia also deployed the MV Mega Bakti fleet, a vessel designed as a surface support vessel for submarine rescue.
The MV Mega Bakti is equipped with a long-range vehicle (ROV) capable of diving to a depth of 400 meters.
4. Indian DSRV Ship
The Indian Navy sends a rescue ship type Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV).
The DSRV system can locate submarines up to 1,000 meters underwater using modern side scan sonar, and remotely operated vehicles.
5. HMAS Ballarat & HMAS Sirius
Australia sent two warships, HMAS Ballarat and HMAS Sirius.
HMAS Ballarat is a frigate equipped with sonar capability and MH-60R helicopters on board.
Meanwhile HMAS Sirius can refill ships with fuel, water and supplies during the day and night.
