Jakarta –
HP charging properly is one way to make your device last longer. However, there are still many cellphone users who charge their devices carelessly, which is important when it is full, even though it can improve quality battery declining rapidly.
There are several mistakes that users often make when charging their cellphones. Fortunately this habit can be changed easily. If you want your cellphone and battery to last a long time, don’t make the following five mistakes.
5 Common mistakes when recharging HP batteries
1. Do not use the original charger
Losing the original charger for one reason or another is annoying. But never try to charge your cellphone with a charger or cable whose origin is unclear because it has the potential to damage your cellphone battery.
Especially now that HP vendors have their own fast charging technology that requires a special charger to get optimal speed. For this reason, always use the original charger that came with the cellphone, or if it is lost, immediately look for an official charger from a trusted HP vendor or third-party vendor.
2. Charge the HP battery up to 100%
Fully charging the cellphone to 100% will not cause fatal damage to the battery, but if done all the time it can shorten battery life.
Because of that, it’s best to keep the HP battery percentage at the level of 30% to 80%. Immediately charge the cellphone when the battery is below 50%, and immediately unplug the charger when it reaches the 80% level.
On the other hand, don’t wait HP battery completely discharged just charged. Try to keep the battery level below 20%, so if there is a low battery warning, you should immediately recharge the battery.
3. Charge your phone overnight
Leaving the cellphone charged overnight makes it easier for busy people. But this technique can also make HP batteries not last long.
As previously explained, HP batteries are better filled up to 80%. If you charge it overnight while sleeping, surely you will miss this level. Indeed, some cellphones already have sensors that can turn off the recharging process after the battery is full, but if the cellphone is still active the battery can still be reduced.
Cell phones that are charged overnight can experience a ‘trickle charge’ where a fully charged battery can still be reduced because it is still active. This means that the HP battery will continue to be at the level of 99% to 100% because the charging process is still ongoing. This can make the cellphone hotter, and affect the quality of the battery.
4. Play HP while charging
Just sitting around waiting for the HP to be charged is certainly annoying. But at least don’t use the cellphone to do heavy tasks while the battery is being recharged.
Playing games or watching videos while the cellphone is charging can make the cellphone hotter, and heat is one of the biggest enemies that can make the battery degrade quickly.
5. Leaving the cellphone in a place that is too hot
As mentioned above, heat is the number one enemy of HP batteries. So always keep the cellphone temperature cool, and don’t charge the cellphone in a place that is too hot.
If you have to charge HP during hot days, you should put your cellphone in a place that is protected from sunlight. Don’t put your cellphone on the dashboard of the car when the weather is hot, let alone let it charge in the car.
Not only is the heat too extreme, cold temperatures are not good for battery health. For example, after being outdoors for a long time in winter, it’s best to wait for the HP temperature to follow room temperature before charging it.
