BALLON The d’Or is the most prestigious individual award in football. The award, which started in 1956, was initially only for European players, then applied to all players in European clubs in 1995 and then to every player worldwide in 2007.
However, only 38 players have ever won the prestigious award. They include some of the legends who consistently perform the best games. The following are the five clubs that have produced the most Ballon d’Or winners, citing Sportskeeda, Thursday (29/7/2021):
5. Bayern Munich (5)
Bayern Munich is in fifth place as the club with the most players to win the Ballon d’Or. A total of 5 Die Rotten players have won the title. Unfortunately, Munich last won the individual player title in 1981.

The five players are, Gerd Mueller (1970), Franz Beckenbauer (1972 and 1976), Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (1980 and 1981).
Robert Lewandowski actually had the opportunity to get this prestigious award after leading Munich to the treble in the 2019-2020 season, but the Ballon d’Or was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
4. AC Milan (8)
AC Milan, which is famous for having slick and world-class players. A total of 8 Rossoneri players have won the Ballon d’Or because their performances are quite slick. Consistency is clearly the benchmark and the line of retainer Il Diavollo has it.
