Daily chores or a good regular cleaning can boost positive feelings and help create a sense of control over our spaces, even when everything seems cluttered.
As physically stressful as it is, it gives a sense of reward, and the rewarding experience suddenly becomes one of the stress-relieving activities. Here are tasks you can put off and do throughout the week for a weekend full of them:
Remove bad smell from the dishwasher
- Fortunately, all you need is white vinegar to get the job done.
- Empty the dishwasher, and check for any leftover food that might be stuck.
- And if your machine has a filter, rinse the filter, and even scrub it if necessary.
- Then put a cup of white vinegar in the bowl on the bottom rack and turn it on.
Washing machine cleaning
- A washing machine with a long hot water cycle, loads of laundry, and 2 cups of baking soda.
- Once this is done and dried, add 2 cups of white vinegar and about 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice.
- Then run the longest, hottest and maximum driver again.
- Then wipe the mixture and the cup with a cotton cloth. Most stains (if any) can be dampened with vinegar.
- Then turn it into a paste with baking soda, water, and a non-abrasive sponge.
window cleaning
- You can make a simple vinegar solution: 1 cup white or apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup isopropyl alcohol and water.
- All in a 100ml 300ml spray bottle If desired essential oils can be added.
- Spray on windows inside and out, then wipe with a soft cloth.
Wash sheets and comforters
- When washing a blanket or comforter in the washing machine, it is best to rinse it twice and spin it twice to rinse out all the detergent and save rinsing water.
- In terms of blankets, most blankets on the market can be machine washed, depending on the load capacity of your washing machine.
Give your sofa a new look
- Start by brushing away any crumbs, hair, etc., and then depending on the substance, wipe it away.
- A slightly dampened microfiber cloth works well for some materials, such as leather.
- But be sure to check the furniture care label.
- For stains, wipe away any clumps with a cloth dampened with water or a bit of stain remover.
- Put a small drop of soap on the stain and blot it up with a sponge or white cloth.
