It’s not just about the ability to maintain erections, ejaculation, and reproductive function, penis health includes much more than that. Penis health is influenced by factors such as hygiene practices, lifestyle, and underlying health conditions.

1. Penis Size
Penis size is certainly the main thing to remember when discussing a healthy penis. However, remember that penis size is not the only thing. This is because the normal size of male genitalia in various ethnicities can vary.
In general, the normal penis length is 7–10 cm with a circumference of 9–10 cm when limp or flaccid. Meanwhile, the length of a healthy and normal man’s genitals when erect is 12–16 cm with a circumference of 12 cm.
The penis is considered small or abnormal if it is less than 7.6 cm long when erect (micropenis).
Most men are not confident because they have a small penis. In fact, several studies show that 85% of women are satisfied with the size of their partner’s penis.
2. Comfort when urinating
The penis functions for urination and ejaculation. A sign of a healthy penis is when you can urinate comfortably without pain or obstruction.

However, this cannot be a benchmark. Because someone may have a penis color that is one to two shades darker, reddish, or brown than their skin color.
Apart from that, penile cancer can be detected by looking at your penis. Changes in skin color, thickening of the skin, or the appearance of sores can be signs of this rare cancer.
5. Aroma Penis
A healthy penis generally has a certain aroma. This is related to the sweat and oil produced in your genitals. However, changes in penis odor or unpleasant odor can be caused by various factors, such as:
- Accumulation of smegma (white spots on the genitals) on the foreskin of an uncircumcised penis.
- Urinary tract infection (can cause a fishy odor).
- Fungal infection (damp/musty odor).
- Inflammation of the head of the penis or balanitis.
