The total volume of loans granted under the 5-7-9% Affordable Loans program increased by 2% in the fourth quarter of 2023 and by 34% throughout the year, according to the February Banking Sector Review.
It should be noted that during the year the volume of loans increased the most in the fourth quarter in the sphere of trade and energy supply, as well as in logistics and the food industry. At the same time, the agricultural loan portfolio decreased significantly during the last quarter.
In addition, the volume of the net portfolio of retail loans in hryvnia increased for three consecutive quarters: by 7.4% in the fourth quarter and by 20.3% in 2023. The growth is mainly due to rapid credit card lending by the two main banks, the BNU added.
It is observed that the quality of the portfolio normalized during the year and the level of delinquencies decreased in all segments.
