An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 was recorded in the central part of Turkey. By information European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the epicenter was located at a depth of 10 km, 43 km from the city of Adiyaman with a population of 223 thousand and 13 km from the city of Besni, which is home to 42 thousand people. Initially, the center reported a magnitude of 5.6, but later adjusted the value.
The next shock was one of the strongest since the devastating earthquake that occurred on the night of February 6. Its magnitude was, according to various sources, from 7.4 to 7.8. This earthquake resulted in dozens of aftershocks. Thousands of homes have been destroyed in Turkey and Syria. More than 4.3 thousand people died, about 20 thousand were injured. Many countries are involved in the elimination of the consequences of earthquakes. On the night of February 7, more than 100 rescuers from Russia arrived in Turkey.
