Eisbären Berlin defended their lead in the German Ice Hockey League with a clear away win. On Friday evening, the German champions won the Krefeld Penguins 5: 1 (1: 0, 1: 1, 3: 0) and thus secured their third victory in a row.

In front of more than 3,000 spectators, Yannick Veilleux (5th minute) scored the early opening goal after the hosts lost a puck. After that, the polar bears dominated the game for long stretches, Sebastian Streu made it 2-0 at the beginning of the second round.
With some time penalties, it was the Berliners themselves who brought the home side back into the game. Lucas Lessio scored the connection goal for Krefeld shortly before the break siren in the power play.
But in the final third, Frans Nielsen (45th) and Matt White (55th) scored two goals for the clear polar bear victory.
