A 5.0-magnitude earthquake was registered in the central part of Turkey’s Konya province, the Disaster and Accident Management Authority (AFAD) said. The epicenter was in Selcuklu County, and the quake struck at 6:08 p.m. local time.
A strong earthquake shook Turkey
The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 7.24 km and was felt in different areas of the province. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far, but footage posted on social media shows panicked residents running from their homes.
Last week, the southern province of Adana was hit by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake.
