Nadia said that if the current Covid-19 cases reached 4 million, the actual number of cases could touch 16 million. However, 12 million cases were not recorded in the system.
“One of our seroprevalence results shows that the Covid-19 prevalence rate is 14%. So when we look at the number of confirmed Covid-19 sufferers, if it is currently reported around 4 million, it might be around 15 or 16 million,” said Nadia, as quoted by Antara. quoted, Thursday (25/11/2021).
Nadia said that there was a study that said that almost half of the population of DKI Jakarta had been infected with the virus that started in the city of Wuhan, Hubei, China.
Nadia said that with the estimated number of infections, it cannot be said that communal immunity (herd immunity) has been established.
“Although there are already people who have immunity or immunity from natural infection, natural infection is not a factor in calculating the vaccination target to be able to control or reduce the rate of transmission,” he explained.
