4th session of the Sejm. Schedule of parliamentary sessions for January 25 and 26

When will the 4th session of the Sejm take place?

A detailed schedule of the 4th session of the Sejm of the 10th term has been published on the official website of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, providing the approximate time for consideration of items on the agenda of the Sejm battles planned for this week. It shows that this week the MPs will deliberate on January 25 and 26, 2024. Thursday’s deliberations will start at 10:00, and the Friday meeting will start at 9:00. It’s another exciting week at Wiejska.

Schedule of parliamentary works: Thursday, January 25

Thursday’s parliamentary schedule is as follows:

  • time. 10:00-12:30 – first reading of the citizens’ draft act amending the Act on social pensions (form no. 30), (10-minute statements on behalf of clubs and 5-minute statement on behalf of the group), (points),
  • time. 12:30-15:00 – first reading of the citizens’ bill amending the Teacher’s Card Act (form no. 28), (10-minute statements on behalf of clubs and 5-minute statement on behalf of the group), (points),
  • time. 15:00-16:30 – first reading of the parliamentary bill amending the Act on municipal self-government and the Act – Electoral Code (form no. 75), (5-minute statements on behalf of clubs and 3-minute statement on behalf of the group), (point ),
  • time. 16:30-18:00 – Commission report on the government bill amending the Act on the National Center for Research and Development and the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science (forms No. 171), (5-minute statements on behalf of clubs and 3-minute statements statement on behalf of the group), (point),
  • time. 18:00-19:00 – Committee report on the parliamentary draft resolution on the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of “Wiadomości Literackie” (forms no. 157), 5-minute statements on behalf of the clubs and a 3-minute statement on behalf of the group), (point ),

Friday’s schedule of parliamentary work is as follows:

  • time. 9:00-9:05 – oath of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (points),
  • time. 9:05-9:30 – voting, including: report of the Committee on the resolution of the Senate on the budget act for 2024, selection of the composition of the Investigative Committee to examine the legality, regularity and purposefulness of operational and reconnaissance activities undertaken, among others, using Pegasus software by members of the Council of Ministers, secret services, the Police, fiscal and customs-fiscal control authorities, law enforcement authorities and the prosecutor’s office in the period from November 16, 2015 to November 20, 2023 and changes in personnel parliamentary committees,
  • time. 9:30-11:45 – questions on current affairs (points),
  • time. 11:45-13:15 – current information (points),
  • time. 13:15-16:00 – information on the activities of the Ombudsman and the state of compliance with human and civil rights and freedoms in 2022, together with the Commission’s report (forms No. 85), (10-minute statements on behalf of the clubs and a 5-minute statement on behalf of the group), (point),
  • time. 16:00-18:30 – information from the Council of Ministers on the situation of older people in Poland for 2022, along with the position of the Commission (forms no. 83 and 151), (10-minute statements on behalf of the clubs and a 5-minute statement on behalf of the club) , (points),
  • time. 18:3-19:30 – possible parliamentary statements.
