San Francisco 49ers receiver Jalen Hurd is undergoing an MRI after suffering a serious knee injury in training on Sunday.
The 49ers fear that Hurds has torn his cruciate ligament and is forcing him to sit out the entire 2020 season.
The 3rd Round Pick 2019 went down during the individual drills and was dealt with on the edge of the field. The injury didn’t look severe at first.
The wideout injury is another blow to San Francisco’s Receiving Corps. The planned top target Deebo Samuel will likely miss the start of the regular season with a foot injury, star receiver Emmanuel Sanders has been eliminated from the Free Agency, and veteran Travis Benjamin has decided not to play the 2020 season.
Hurd expected his role to increase this year. His rookie season ended early after suffering a back injury in September.
Kendrick Bourne, Dante Pettis and rookie Brandon Aiyuk are the current top receivers of the Niners. The team also recently signed JJ Nelson and Tavon Austin.
