49% of DKI Jakarta residents have been exposed to COVID, Anies: Hopefully immunity will be formed

Jakarta

The research team from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) of the University of Indonesia said that 49.2 percent of DKI Jakarta residents had been exposed Corona. Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan hope its citizens have immunity against Corona virus.

“This means that half of the population in Jakarta already has exposure and hopefully immunity, in the case of SARS-CoV-2,” said Anies as quoted by Antara. Among, Saturday (10/7/2021).

Anies said that his party continues to boost the COVID-19 vaccination. He targeted the establishment of group immunity against COVID-19 in the capital.

“So this is our homework (homework) has not been completed, the homework is still long, it must be done seriously,” said Anies.

“So the success is not how many vaccines, but how many are vaccinated,” said Anies.

As of Saturday (7/10), there have been 5.4 million residents of DKI Jakarta who have been vaccinated against Corona. Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is boosting Corona vaccination for residents aged 12 and over.

Meanwhile, UI Epidemologist Pandu Riono said that COVID-19 vaccination should be a priority for the DKI Provincial Government because 50 percent of Jakarta residents do not yet have antibodies.

“We must be able to suppress transmission, which is the main key by means of residents willing and together changing behavior to reduce the risk of transmission, namely 5M,” said Pandu.
