A corona virus infection has been detected in primary school Sint-Dimpna in Geel. The 3-year-old preschoolers and their teachers will be quarantined until October 2.

At the beginning of this week, a kindergarten teacher tested positive at the Sint-Dimpna primary school in Geel. After consultation with the Pupil Guidance Center and the occupational physician, it was decided to let all 48 children from the classes of 3-year-old preschoolers and their teachers go into home isolation until 2 October. The reason is that the teachers work very closely every year anyway. But the positive teacher had also had direct contact with four other colleagues. They were also asked to go into quarantine for two weeks.

“All these parties involved are now being tested as soon as possible,” the school management says. “The 4- and 5-year-old preschoolers can come to school on Wednesday without any problems as long as their teachers have not tested positive. There is no problem for primary school anyway. ”

The Geel primary school also had the dubious honor of having the very first corona infection in the Kempen at the beginning of March, when a primary school student had returned home with the virus after a skiing holiday in Italy. (ho)
