  • Visit of MoMA PS1, one of the oldest museums dedicated solely to contemporary art in the United States. Located in the former premises of a school hence its name PS (Public School), it was founded in 1976, but has been affiliated with the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMa) since 2000. (moma.org)

Day 2 – Manhattan

  • Installation à The Frederick (frederickhotelnyc.com), beautifully located on West Broadway, in the Tribeca district, two steps from the subway and a few minutes walk from the old towers (World Center) destroyed on September 11, 2001. Member of the Triumph Hotels group, it is the oldest New York Hotel (1845). The 6 hotels in this group offer free tours of the districts where they are located (different day for each hotel) upon prior reservation. (triumphhotels.com)
  • Visit of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum (911memorial.org). Despite the years, the emotion is still as intense in front of these reminders of a senseless act.
  • On the 102nd floor of One World Observatory (oneworldobservatory.com), we offer a bird’s eye view of this unique city.
  • Brookfield Place (bfplny.com), an office complex renovated after the terrorist attacks, is worth a visit for its breathtaking lobby. There are also restaurants, shops, etc.
  • Finally, we end with the spectacular Oculus (panynj.gov), the huge building in the shape of bird wings that replaces the old PATH station, destroyed during the attacks. Manhattan’s transportation hub, it also has plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes, and even a market.
