4,717 new infections and active cases rise to 73,688

New cases in Galicia are lower than those of the same day of the previous week for the second day in a row and the week is progressing better than the previous one, with a total of 9,633 infections on Monday and Tuesday, compared to 10,894 on Monday and Tuesday of last week. Active cases continue to increase and are close to the maximum of last Wednesday, before Sergas changed the way of counting how many people were sick with Covid-19. From the data of the last few days, from the impression that the sixth wave has finally reached its peak and the infections will begin to decrease. In just a few days we will clear up doubts and check if the active cases begin to drop.

The hospital situation improves today, with 8 fewer patients. The number of admissions on the ground floor from 556 to 549 (-7) and that of the ICU drops from 54 to 53, making the total drop from 610 to 602 (-8). The 602 hospitalized today are 92 more than the 510 last Tuesday.
