BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) — A total of 47 national-level intellectual property rapid processing centers have been built or are under construction across China, as the country strengthens intellectual property rights protection , the National Intellectual Property Administration of China announced on Thursday.
It recently approved the establishment of two new centers of this type in the cities of Linhai and Yuyao, in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang.
These two centers will provide expedited intellectual property protection services for the fashion and leisure industry in Linhai, and for the plastic products industry in Yuyao, enabling the application and granting of design patents in these sectors within a very short time frame, according to an Administration official.
“This initiative will help establish a talent pool specializing in intellectual property protection, improve the effectiveness of intellectual property protection in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, and create an enabling environment for “innovation and commercial development, thus promoting the growth of small and medium-sized private enterprises,” said the official.
The development of these two centers will attract more outstanding design talents to the two regions, improve the level of product design, support the upgrading of traditional industries, and contribute to high-quality economic development, added the person responsible. END
