The heads of state and government at the Council of Europe summit in Iceland on May 17 supported the principles of the “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This is stated in the declaration of the summit. The document was signed by the leaders of 46 countries.
“Without responsibility, there can be no lasting peace, and we support the principles of a just and lasting peace set out by President Zelensky in the Peace Formula,” the document says.
Zelensky welcomed the decision of the countries of the Council of Europe.
“It is important that Europe is so consolidated for the sake of an honest peace plan. I thank all the leaders of our Europe and every member state of the Council of Europe for this,” he stressed in his evening address.
