Influenza vaccination is 71.58 percent ahead of the state’s scheduled target of 634,242 doses, which means immunization of 453,968 people, said the Secretary of Health (SESA) of the state of Querétaro.
It indicated that during the cold season, the risk of developing acute respiratory infections, including influenza, increases, for which groups of people between six and 59 months of age, 60 years of age and older, pregnant women, personal health as well as risk groups (people with diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, HIV and morbid obesity) to receive the vaccine.
In an official statement, he explained that so far in the cold season 2022-2023 (epidemiological week 40-50) 5,554 positive cases of influenza have been reported nationwide and 81 deaths have been recorded in the states of Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur , Coahuila, Colima, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Mexico, Michoacán, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
In the state of Querétaro, 782 positive cases were recorded during this period. These are 464 women and 318 men, distributed over a range from 20 days to 94 years.
The vaccine is applied in health centers and family medical units of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), as well as in the module located in Plaza de Armas (Calle 5 de Mayo), from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00
