A group of 44 people in Bihar, India have been charged after attacking three mining officials, including one female inspector. The incident occurred during an inspection aimed at cracking down on illegal sand mining. Videos of the incident went viral, showing the officials being hit with stones and sticks as they attempted to carry out their inspection. The female inspector suffered injuries as a result of the attack. As many as 50 vehicles were seized in connection with the incident. Police have said that more arrests are likely, with the hunt still on for the mastermind behind the attack.
