Even top strikers like Cristiano Ronaldo or Robert Lewandowski can only dream of this quota. Sebastian Döscher has already scored 44 goals in seven games this season. The attacker from regional soccer club FC Motor Süd Neubrandenburg scored around six goals per game. With his yield, Döscher is currently the most accurate player in German amateur football.

Interest in Döscher increases

The media has been lining up for the goal scorer in recent weeks. Born in Neubrandenburg, many Internet portals, including the football magazine kicker, had to answer questions. “DFB-TV even visited us at one game. All this attention is new to me, ”admits Döscher. Previously, he said he was occasionally featured in the local media.

Chase for goal record stopped due to corona

Döscher is hungry for many more goals, but the forced Corona break at the beginning of November stopped its course. The striker wanted to chase the top scores of Dennis Tauber (VfB Habingshorst / Kreisliga B1 Westfalen) and Robert Schlicht (FSV Rühn / Kreisliga Warnow). The clippers each scored a whopping 101 hits in one season. “With all the game failures, it will be difficult to crack the value. We actually have 13 games left. If all of them are actually carried through, it might still be something, ”estimates Döscher. However, should the number of games decrease for him and his team, the 34-year-old believes the prospects of breaking the 100-goal mark this season are difficult.

Lots of experience and many club changes

The fact that the trained businessman, who works in the steel wholesale trade, marked gates like on an assembly line, is also due to his vast experience. Döscher started playing soccer at LSV Triepkendorf, near Feldberg – where his parents lived. In 5th grade, the man from Mecklenburg switched to the sports high school in Neubrandenburg and at the same time started at home with FC Tollense. At the successor club 1. FC Neubrandenburg 04 Döscher stayed until the beginning of the men’s area.

The offensive kicker was trained by father Wolfgang in the B-youth. Today dad is also his coach at FC Motor Süd. “It’s a great feeling when your father is your coach. After the final whistle, we usually chat a lot about the game and also make very regular phone calls, ”says Döscher, who comes from a real family of footballers. Brother Oliver also played for a few years, but had to end his career prematurely because of three cruciate ligament tears. After all: the siblings once played together at SV Teterow.

In addition to the club from the Bergringstadt, the SV Waren, 1. FC Neubrandenburg II, SV Hanse Neubrandenburg and Neubrandenburger FC belonged to Sebastian Döscher’s other positions. In January 2020 he moved to SV Motor Süd after the NFC withdrew. Döscher revealed that he had also turned down higher-class offers from FCN and Penzliner SV from the association league. For the former club, the right-footed player even played two games in the NOFV-Oberliga Nord in 2015. “But I had my best time at SV Hanse. We had a lot of partying there. I won’t forget the moments with NFC either, ”says Döscher.

He almost got promoted to the national class with SV Motor Süd last summer. But instead of starting a new attempt for promotion in the district league, it went down to the district league. The reason for this was the re-establishment of FC Motor Süd Neubrandenburg in July, which broke away from the football division of SV Motor Süd. Döscher remained loyal to his team. “Almost the entire team stayed together. Our goal is to return to the regional league, ”he makes clear.

17 goals in the first game of the season

In the first game of the season, the sure-footed player and FC Motor Süd underpinned their ambitions for promotion. With 27: 1, the Neubrandenburg team swept their own third team off the field. Remarkable: Döscher shone as a 17-time goalscorer in the game. “I stopped counting after eight goals. After the game, our president informed me that it would be 17, that was crazy, ”he commented. His personal record was previously eight goals in one encounter.

Word of Döscher’s accuracy quickly got around in the league. The Neubrandenburger was closely followed in the following games by one, sometimes two opponents throughout the game. “In one game, an opponent positioned himself in the storm before the final whistle and then picked me up there, so to speak,” reports Döscher about the permanent man coverage against him in the district league.

However, the constant guard did not detract from the executioner’s gate series. Döscher has scored at least once in all seven compulsory games of the season. When more hits will follow is still in the stars. Due to the Corona interruption, it is still uncertain when the season will continue. Döscher hopes for a restart at least in the spring – also so as not to lose sight of the record.
