More and more public and private institutions are joining the Strategy Get into Childhood Mode promoted by the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) through which municipalities, regional governments and institutions in general are called upon to promote initiatives that form a safe society for girls, boys and adolescents where their fundamental rights are respected .
The institutions that join the strategy commit to prioritizing the protection of girls, boys and adolescents, guaranteeing compliance with their rights and implementing measures to prevent risk situations that violate them and, to do so, they must strengthen the capacities of the Municipal officials and public servants.
To date, the MIMP, through the General Directorate of Girls, Boys and Adolescents, has achieved that 421 institutions implement the Childhood Modeof which 383 correspond to district and provincial municipalities (265 district and 118 provincial), in addition to 34 public and private institutions and 04 regional governments.
The current management of the Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations, Teresa Hernández, places special emphasis on the prevention of violence against girls, boys and adolescents. “The protection of children and adolescents is not only the task of the State, but it calls upon all of us as actors in our community. Let us remember that they have the right to live free from any form of violence, in a welcoming and protective family environment,” said the head of the sector.
