Although the spread of the’third pandemic’ of a new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) has recently eased somewhat, it is showing signs of increase again as confirmed cases appear one after another across the country on the 9th.
According to the quarantine authorities and local governments such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, a total of 412 people across the country from 0 o’clock to 9 PM on that day were confirmed.
151 more than the 261 totaled at the same time the day before.
In the area where confirmed cases were found, 344 (83.5%) in the metropolitan area and 68 (16.5%) in the non-metropolitan area.
By city and province, there were 162 people in Seoul and Gyeonggi, 20 in Incheon, 17 in Busan, 15 in Daegu, 14 in Gwangju, 10 in Gyeongnam, 3 in Gangwon, 2 in Jeonnam, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, and 1 in Jeonbuk.
Of the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, there have not yet been confirmed cases in 4 places including Daejeon, Ulsan, Sejong, and Jeju.
As time remains until midnight when the count is closed, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 0 o’clock on the 9th is expected to increase further, reaching the mid-to-late 400 range.
The previous day, by midnight, 42 more people increased to 303.
The third pandemic, which began in earnest from mid-November last year, showed a gradual decline this year, but at the end of last month, it soared to 500 people for a while due to group infections such as IM Mission, but recently dropped to around 300 people.
In the last week (2.3~9), the number of new confirmed cases per day recorded 467 → 451 → 370 → 393 → 371 → 289 → 303, with an average of 378 cases per day. Among them, the number of confirmed cases of regional outbreaks, which is a key indicator of the adjustment of the’social distancing’ stage, fell to an average of 348 per day, maintaining the range of stage 2 (over 300 people nationwide).
However, there is a high possibility that the related indicators will deteriorate again, as new group infections, large and small, are occurring in the metropolitan area.
In the case of major infections, a group infection related to a religious facility and a cultivation academy occurred in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do that afternoon, and so far, a bunch of 53 people have been confirmed.
Twenty confirmed cases, including Shinto, came out from religious facilities, and one of them was found to be a lecturer at a school in the same region, and a Japanese colonial investigation revealed that 33 people, including students, were infected at the school.
In addition, a total of 14 people were confirmed in case 2 of the Dongdaemun-gu Hospital in Seoul, and 12 and 13 were confirmed in Goyang City, Gyeonggi-do, centering on the users of the ballroom and restaurant in the same building.
