40,000 people take part in the RhineCleanUp campaign: Latest news from Frankfurt & Hesse

Limburg. A 19-year-old suspected right-wing extremist will have to answer to the Limburg Regional Court from next Wednesday (September 18) for allegedly threatening violence and planning attacks in forums. Due to the age of the accused, the trial will take place before the regional court’s large youth chamber, and the public will be excluded from the proceedings.

The Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office had brought charges against the man on suspicion of preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state, as well as violating the weapons law and using symbols of unconstitutional organizations. The man was arrested on November 15th last year and has been in custody since then. 14 hearings have been scheduled for the trial until the end of the year.

According to the investigation, the nineteen-year-old is said to have “a firmly established anti-Semitic and racist attitude,” as the public prosecutor’s office announced when bringing charges. The authority assumes that he had been planning and preparing an “overthrow of the basic democratic order in the Federal Republic of Germany using violence” since the end of 2021 at the latest. His aim was said to have been to create a self-sufficient “people’s community” on a National Socialist basis. According to the public prosecutor’s office, he was particularly concerned with the exclusion of Jews and people with a migration background.

The teenager is also said to have planned the construction of bunkers for the manufacture of weapons and the establishment of a Schutzstaffel (protection squad), the latter by means of deadly violence against people and especially against police officers, whom he saw as part of a supposed current arbitrary state rule. He is also said to have used a 3D printer to print parts of an automatic submachine gun. Investigators also discovered a gas pistol in his possession, the barrel of which had been modified so that it could fire projectiles. (dpa.)
