Today, Thursday, the Algerian company “Sonatrach” signed a contract with an Italian company, for the construction of a plant for the extraction of liquefied petroleum gas, worth 400 million dollars.
Sonatrach said Thursday that “a contract has been signed with the Italian company” Technimont “for the construction of a $ 400 million liquefied petroleum gas extraction plant in the Ghard El region. Pavel, in the south of the country.
The planned processing capacity of this plant is 10 million cubic meters per day of associated gas, which will enable the production of 1,000 tons per day of liquefied petroleum gas, 300 tons per day of condensate and 8.7 million cubic meters. per day of gas.
Sonatrach has indicated that construction of the plant will be completed within 36 months.
As part of the continuation of the hydrocarbon development efforts, the “Tin Foy Tebencourt” gas complex (a partnership between Sonatrach and the French Total Energy) has signed a contract with the Italian company “Arcad” for the construction of a new unit of low pressure and a collection network that allows the connection of 24 new production wells with the current plant and the renewal of existing plants “, reads a note from” Sonatrach “.
The statement underlined that this project “will allow to maintain the production threshold at the level of 11 million cubic meters per day, and the amount allocated for it is 24 billion Algerian dinars (about 170 million dollars) for a period of completion estimated at 34 months. “
It should be noted that the Algerian company Sonatrach announced on July 25 the discovery of two gas fields and an oil field, in partnership with the Italian Eni.
On July 19, the company had already signed contracts with some foreign companies, including the American “Occidental”, the Italian “Eni” and the French “Total Energies”, to invest in the energy sector for a value of 4 billion dollars.
