A 40-year-old man was arrested in Kagoshima City on the night of the 24th for assaulting and injuring a taxi driver and leaving without paying the fare.

Takamitsu Chazono (40), a self-proclaimed unemployed man from Motomachi, Minami-gun, Kagoshima City, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and damage to property.

According to the Kagoshima Central Police Station, around 11:30 pm yesterday, Chaen used a taxi in Kagoshima City, punched a male driver in his 50s who asked for payment, kicked the door glass, etc. There is a suspicion that he left without paying about 700 yen.

It was discovered when the driver called 110, and the driver suffered minor injuries to his hands and feet. Police have not clarified whether Chazono has admitted to the allegations, citing “an obstacle to the investigation”.

Police are investigating the details of the situation at the time, as Chaen was drunk at the time.
