40 wagon trains were fixed on E16 in Valdres-NRK Vestland

Vê continues to create large problem for mountain passes Thursday.

The E16 over Filefjell has been the only one open for free traffic. But there have also been big problems.

– Wednesday night there was a traffic accident by eye. This led to several wagon trains standing and waiting in the area, says operations manager in the Inland Police District, Oyvind Bakken, to NRK at 6.40 on Thursday morning.

– Difficult driving conditions

When traffic was due to start again after the salvage on Thursday morning, new problems arose.

– Several wagon trains were then stuck, and needed help to move on, says Bakken.

He estimates that as many as 40 wagons stood in the area. But not everyone needed help.

– There are difficult driving conditions at the place. Traffic is back on, he says.

Wagon train driver Silje Skram Garnes, who was at the scene last night, tells about challenging driving conditions.

– There was a lot of wind, and poor visibility, she says to NRK.

Together they had to wait for almost six hours to arrive.

Store skadar

One of those on the roads to help anyone who has been in trouble is Daniel Kampsveen, bilberger in Vang Auto-Service.

Thursday morning he is in place on E16 to help two wagon trains as small I hop front against front on Wednesday night.

– There is great material damage to both of them, so bad that they are scrapped.

He was out on the scene yesterday to help the driver island, but could not finish the job before he had to go on another assignment.

There is a passage in one field at the site.

Large amounts of snow

Traffic operator Marianne Hove at Vegtrafikksentralen tells NRK that several of the mountain passes will not be opened today.

– On Fv. 50 There has been an avalanche in Hol-Aurland, so it will not be opened today, she says.

On Rv 7 Hardangervidda you will take a new assessment at 18 O’clock Thursday night, but Hove says it is not certain that the mountain will open then.

There is a lot of snow, so it will take time to break up. Therefore, it is uncertain what time we will be able to open, she says.

The wind is expected to calm down throughout the day, Thursday. However, due to heavy snowfalls, it may take time to reopen the mountain passes.

On E134 over Haukelifjell took a large Avalanche with a goat barn. The road is not expected to open at first.
