The amount of grant funding in the project proposals is a total of BGN 27 million against a budget of BGN 15 million, the Minister of Agriculture announced.
During the application period under the investment procedure in Centers for preparation for marketing and storage of fruits and vegetables 40 have been submitted under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan project. The requested grant for them is BGN 27 million with a certain budget under the procedure in the amount of BGN 15 million. Projects are in the process of processing. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture Kiril Vatev during the parliamentary control on Friday. He specified that the admission period was from October 24 to December 22, 2023.
In the event that the budget is insufficient, given that the projects submitted have exceeded the specified minimum number of points, it is possible to redistribute the budgets under the PVP so that all the requested investments are financed. Approved projects must be completed and operational by June 2025.
The minister drew attention to the fact that there are producer groups and organizations in the country that have created their own bases for handling and storing the produce. They are used only by the members of the respective associations.
Nine groups of producers have invested with European support in bases and refrigerators in the regions of Pleven, Ruse and Burgas, the minister pointed out.
Currently, three producers’ organizations are implementing operational programs in which there is only interest in equipping bases in the Plovdiv and Silistra regions. The bases function and are used by the organizations and their members.
At the moment, there are no established bases of groups and organizations of producers of milk and milk products, said Kiril Vatev.
Most of the bases for preparing production for the market are located in Southern Bulgaria. They are 16 in number, 10 of them are in Plovdiv region. There are three bases in Northern Bulgaria – in the regions of Montana, Ruse and Veliko Tarnovo.
